Howdy!

Welcome to my new Highway blog. My plan is to record changes that I think need to be made on Houston Highways, get feedback on my thoughts, and present them to the people who need to know where the problems are.

I drive 37 miles each way on my daily commute. Most days I take the Katy Freeway to the West Sam and follow it around to my office by Bush Airport. Some days I don't feel like paying the toll and take the Katy all the way to Eastex and out. Other days I get a wild-hair and take the Westpark either to the West Sam or all the way in.

No matter which way I go, I see problems in design or meeting volume.

Every so often, I will come here and relate something about Houston traffic that I believe needs to be addressed. Some examples:

  • Highway 6 between Westheimer and I-10
  • The intersection of West Sam Houston Tollway and Westpark Tollway
  • Where North Sam passes under I-45
There will be details to follow; details that I would like to bring to the attention of my representatives in the City of Houston, Harris County, the State of Texas and in Washington, DC.

Please comment here if you have any suggestions. I like pictures, as well, so let me know if you have any pictures of problems, drawings or sketches of badly-designed intersections, etc.

Adios,
Clay
